a2 Milk introduces new chocolate milk
Australian dairy brand a2 Milk has launched a new chocolate 2% reduced-fat milk made with only the A2 beta-casein protein.
The company plans to showcase the new product along with its others from its product line at the upcoming Natural Products Expo West, located at the Anaheim Hilton to be held between 9 and 11 March.
It adds to the brand’s offering of milks which isolates the A1 protein, which is the constituent of milk that causes intolerance among several consumers.
The pure cows’ milk will debut later this week, after Australia’s a2 Milk earlier unveiled its expansion into North America.
a2 Milk Company US CEO Blake Waltrip said: "We want to bring people back to real dairy and we're doing it one milk carton at a time.
“Our customers can now enjoy the nutritional benefits of real and natural dairy milk with a chocolate flavor, without digestion problems or the common discomfort associated with conventional chocolate milks."
The new chocolate milk is priced at $3.99-$4.49/half gallon and is claimed to be made with Dutch process cocoa.
a2 Milk vice president of scientific affairs Bonnie Johnson said: "Chocolate milk isn't just for kids! Beyond its great taste, chocolate milk is a powerhouse of nutrients, including calcium and vitamin D for strong bones, and potassium and magnesium for good blood pressure.
"It's also a great post workout drink because of its perfect combination of carbohydrates and protein to help replenish energy and build muscle!"
