DBR Staff Writer Published 07 November 2012

Teavana, a specialty tea and tea accessory retailer, has re-branded 46 Canadian Teaopia retail stores and opened its 247th store in the US at Solano County in Northern California.

Post the re-branding effort, the total number of locations across Canada that offer the brand's teas, merchandise and fully trained Teaologists will reach to 55.

The Solano store is the 300th company-owned store in North America.

The Georgia-based company has partnered with Alshaya group to open its first outlet in Kuwait at The Avenues mall, which is its first store outside of North America.

CEO and founder Andrew Mack said: "We remain committed to expanding the culture of tea across the world and have laid great foundations to continue global growth in the years ahead."

Alshaya executive chairman Mohammed Alshaya said: "We have launched some very special new brands into the region this week, and it is fitting that Teavana makes its debut in what is now one of the Middle East's largest and most exciting malls."

Teavana offers more than 100 varieties of premium loose-leaf teas, authentic artisanal teawares and other tea-related merchandise.
