Teavana launches new selection of teas

DBR Staff Writer Published 04 November 2010

Teavana, a specialty tea and tea accessory retailer based in Georgia, has launched a new selection of teas called New Harvest, for the 2010-2011 season.

The roll-out includes a combination of flavored white and green teas, single estate oolong and black and a line of herbal teas.

The New Harvest portfolio includes teas such as Maharaja Chai Oolong, Shanghai Orchid, Blackberry Mojito and JavaVana Mate.

This collection begins with two new white teas. Shanghai Orchid offers the scent of orchids accompanied with melon and lemon undertones on a white tea base. Scarlet Cloud is a double 'Superfoods' berry blend accompanying a white tea base with a mint finish.

The new line-up also features six new green teas, of which the three flavored green teas include Blackberry Mojito, a blend of blackberries, spearmint, plum and raspberry.

Gyokuro Genmaicha is a blending of Gyokuro Japanese tea with roasted and popped rice. Jinjaa Citrus Twist is said to be a different take on the traditional lemon ginger pairing by adding the flavor of Yuzu to ginger.

The three plain green teas are Emperor's Clouds & Mist, Huang Shan Mao Feng Reserve and Yunnan Emerald Buds.

The oolong category now includes Anjou Pear-adise Oolong, Prosperous Peach Oolong and Uncommon Yang Mei.

The company's new black tea is Brisk Assam Breeze. Teavana's Thai teas include Cha Yen Thai Tea and Taj Masala Chai.

Other new teas in the line are Capital of Heaven Keemun, Nine Dragon Golden Needle, Himalayan Splendor and JavaVana Mate of Argentina.

Teavana's caffeine free selections expand with Cocoa Praline Tart, Lemon Lime Kampai and Tulsi Dosha Chai. Pineapple Kona Pop! and Dokudami Umami are other teas that join the new portfolio.
