Starbucks unveils toasted coconut cold brew

Coffee giant Starbucks has added another coconut-infused beverage to its Cold Brew lineup.

Toasted Coconut Cold Brew is available at participating Starbucks stores in the US and Canada for a limited time. 

Made with the chain's Nariño 70 Cold Brew, the new drink is lightly sweetened with a new toasted-coconut syrup and a splash of coconut milk.

Starbucks senior beverage developer Christal Canzler said: “We really liked the simplicity of the coconut and honey flavors of jalao, we knew the toasted coconut flavors would go really well with the inherent sweet, chocolate notes of our Cold Brew.

“Pairing it with a splash of coconutmilk gave it just the right amount of refreshing creaminess.”


Starbucks recently introduced more ways for customers to enjoy cold brew on-the-go with new Cocoa & Honey with Cream Starbucks® Cold Brew joining black, unsweetened Starbucks Cold Brew which was launched in 2016.

Both will be available in grocery stores in the US this summer.

In a separte release, the company said customers in the US now have a new lighter-roast brewed coffee to discover with 2017 Starbucks Blonde Roast, available for a limited time. 

Recently, the blend was also introduced in Canada as Blonde Espresso and is claimed to have made an impact with good following.

Starbucks coffee quality senior manager Anthony Carroll said: “Blonde Roast isn’t just the same coffee roasted lighter.

“Each coffee bean requires a balance of temperature and time to reach its individual peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor.”

Anthony stated, at first they wanted to make an espresso with a lighter side and ended up making a brewed coffee with a creamy body and bright sweetness.

The coffee is claimed to be the result of a perfect blend of Latin American and East African coffee with its round and smooth body and acidic and citrus notes, respectively.
