Nestlé to invest £110m in Staffordshire coffee plant

DBR Staff Writer Published 24 November 2011

Nestlé has revealed a £110m plan to add 12 new production lines at its Staffordshire coffee manufacturing facility. The extension of the plant will treble production and boost the workforce to 800 by 2013.

The new production lines will produce Nescafé Dolce Gusto coffee pods and will be sold in the UK and 38 other countries. The company will create 300 new jobs at the facility by 2013.

Nestlé said some of the new employees will become part of the first intake into the new Nestlé Academy, which aims to increase the number of graduates, apprentices and interns in the company.

Nestlé UK chairman and CEO Paul Grimwood said the company was committed to the continued modernization of its UK manufacturing capability.

"Recruiting the best people for our business is the key to our continued success," Grimwood added.
